Discord
The mezein bot gives a role to members who confirm with their pin. Your server never learns who they are.
Set up
- Add the bot from app.mezein.com/discord. It asks for Manage Roles (to give the role), View Audit Log (so bans and removed roles reach mezein), and View Channel and Send Messages (for the daily reminder).
- Make a role for verified people, for example Human. In Server Settings → Roles, drag the mezein role above it, or the bot can't give it.
- Run
/mezein-setup role:@Human. Only you see the reply: a one-time code and a link. Open it, check your server's name, give a contact email, and connect. You get your dashboard key there. - Run
/mezein-panelin your verify channel. It posts a Get verified button. - Lock channels to the role however you like.
Commands
/verify | Anyone: get a link to verify and get the role. |
|---|---|
/mezein-setup | Manage Server: connect the server, or change the role. Add established_only:True to give the role only to pins that are no longer new. |
/mezein-panel | Manage Server: post the Get verified button here. The daily reminder goes in this channel too. |
/mezein-reminders | Manage Server: turn the daily reminder on or off. |
/mezein-dashboard | Manage Server: get a new dashboard key. The old one stops working. |
/mezein-report | Manage Roles: report a verified member. They aren't told. |
If a new command doesn't show up, reload Discord (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R).
What happens on its own
- One account per person: a pin can verify one Discord account in your server. Verifying another moves the role to it.
- Removed pins lose the role: once a day, anyone whose pin was paused or removed loses the role. They can verify again if it's cleared.
- Bans and removed roles become reports: every 10 minutes the bot reads your audit log. Banning a verified member, or taking the role away, sends mezein a report with the reason your moderator gave, and they can't verify in your server again.
- A daily reminder: while anyone verified in your server isn't confirmed by a friend yet, the bot posts one reminder in the verify channel and removes yesterday's. It never names anyone and never sends direct messages.
Good practice
- Keep the mezein role above the verified role, and don't give the verified role by hand: it only means something if mezein gave it.
- Ban or use
/mezein-reportfor fake or bought accounts. That's how they get caught on other servers too. - Consider
established_only:Truefor servers where trust matters most.
