mezein for Discord
A verified role for real people. Members tap a button, confirm with their mezein pin, and get the role. Your server never learns who they are.
Add to DiscordWhat it stops
- Bot accounts joining and spamming, or sending scam DMs.
- One person running several accounts: each pin can verify one account per server. Verifying another moves the role to it.
- Removed pins keeping access: once a day, anyone whose pin has been paused or removed loses the role.
- Bad actors moving on to the next server: when your moderators ban a verified member or take their role away, mezein gets a report and reviews their pin. Reports from different places can pause it everywhere.
Setting it up
- Add the bot with the button above. It asks to manage roles, read the audit log (so bans and removed roles reach mezein), and post in channels (for the daily reminder).
- Make a role for verified people, for example Human. In Server Settings → Roles, drag the mezein role above it.
- Run
/mezein-setup role:@Human. The bot sends you (only you) a one-time code and a link: open it, check your server's name, and connect. Addestablished_only:Trueif only pins that are no longer new should get the role. - Run
/mezein-panelin your verify channel. It posts a Get verified button. Anyone can also type/verify. - Moderators can report a verified member with
/mezein-report. Banning them, or taking the role away, reports them too, and they can't verify again in your server. - Once a day, while anyone verified here isn't confirmed yet, the bot posts one reminder in the verify channel (and removes yesterday's). Turn it off with
/mezein-reminders on:False. - Lock channels to the role however you like.
What mezein keeps
To keep one account per person in each server, mezein remembers which Discord account is verified in which server. The account id is stored encrypted, and each server gets its own name for each person, so records for different servers can't be matched up with each other. The server only sees the role. From the audit log, mezein only uses bans and role changes about verified members, with the reason the moderator gave. Members need a mezein pin, and anyone can get one at a table night or with a UK university email.
